Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This translation is provided for the user's convenience. In the event of any discrepancy between the Italian version and any translation, the Italian version shall prevail. These Terms and Conditions govern the fishing guide service offered by Manuel Bonetti, AIGUPP-certified professional fishing guide n. 320/25, on Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and Lake Varese. Booking a fishing session implies full acceptance of these terms.

Service object

The service consists in the organisation and conduct of guided sport fishing trips on the indicated lakes, with the boat, technical equipment and technical advice of the guide made available. The trips are sporting and recreational in nature.

Booking procedures

Bookings are made exclusively directly between the client and the guide, by phone, WhatsApp at +39 346 494 7845 or email manuel.bonettipt@gmail.com. The site does not handle automated bookings or online payments.

Booking is considered confirmed only after explicit acceptance by the guide and agreement on the specific conditions of the trip (date, duration, lake, technique, number of participants).

Payment

Payment terms and timing are agreed directly between client and guide at the time of booking. No payment or deposit is taken via the website.

Cancellation and weather conditions

In case of adverse weather conditions or unsafe lake conditions, the guide reserves the right to postpone or cancel the trip for safety reasons. The assessment is made by the guide, generally on the day before the trip, on the basis of weather forecasts.

In case of postponement due to bad weather, the trip is rescheduled in agreement with the client at no additional cost. If rescheduling is not possible, any sums paid are fully refunded.

Cancellation terms on the part of the client are agreed case by case directly with the guide.

Fishing licences and permits

Specific licences and permits are required to fish on the Italian lakes. It is the client's responsibility to purchase the necessary licences before the trip. The guide provides support and instructions for correct procurement.

For Italian citizens

  • Shore fishing: type B governmental licence (€23 indicative, mandatory from 18 to 65 years old; under-18s and over-65s exempt), validity 12 months; FIPSAS card (€30 indicative for over-15s, €6 indicative for under-15s).
  • Boat fishing: in addition to the licences above, a boat permit is required. Indicative cost: €10 per day for Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese; annual subscription €100 for Lake Varese and €50 for Lake Maggiore.

For foreign citizens

  • Shore fishing: FIPSAS card as for Italian citizens; type D licence (€23 indicative in Lombardy, €14 indicative in Piedmont), validity 3 months. A valid identity document and the licence payment receipt must be brought aboard.
  • Boat fishing: in addition to the licences above, a boat permit is required under the same conditions applicable to Italian citizens.

The guide provides the catch logbook free of charge on board, mandatory for the recording of catches made.

The amounts indicated in this section are updated as of the publication date and are purely indicative. Tariffs, requirements and exemptions may change over time following regulatory updates by the competent Regions and federations. Customers are advised to verify updated costs and requirements directly with the guide or on official websites (FIPSAS, Lombardy Region, Piedmont Region) before booking.

Catch and release and fishing regulations

The guide promotes and recommends the practice of catch and release for trophy-size specimens, in order to protect fish stocks and ensure the sustainability of sport fishing.

The client is in any case required to comply with the fishing regulations in force on the lakes concerned, including legal minimum sizes, closed seasons and protected species. Compliance with the regulations is the client's responsibility.

Minimum age and minors

The minimum age to take part in trips is 14 years. Children under 14 may take part only if accompanied by a responsible adult on board.

For participants between 14 and 18 years of age, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required, to be handed to the guide before the start of the trip.

Identity document

All participants must bring a valid identity document (ID card or passport) and the fishing licence payment receipt aboard, for any controls by the competent authorities.

Insurance and liability

The guide is covered by professional insurance pursuant to AIGUPP certification for civil liability arising from the guiding activity. The boat used is regularly insured for third-party civil liability pursuant to the nautical regulations in force.

The client takes part in the trip at their own risk in respect of the typical sport risks of fishing activity (e.g. minor injuries from the use of equipment, slipping on board). The client must inform the guide of any relevant health conditions before the start of the trip.

The guide reserves the right to interrupt the trip at any time should they consider that safety conditions are not guaranteed.

Right of withdrawal

For distance contracts concluded with consumers, pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 21/2014 the client has the right to withdraw without penalty within 14 days of conclusion of the contract. The right of withdrawal does not apply to fishing services for which a specific date of execution has been set, pursuant to art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).

Jurisdiction and applicable law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law. For any dispute arising from the interpretation or execution of these terms, the court of the consumer's place of residence shall have exclusive jurisdiction, pursuant to art. 33 of the Italian Consumer Code.

Changes to terms

The guide reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be published on the site and will apply to bookings made after the date of publication.
