This translation is provided for the user's convenience. In the event of any discrepancy between the Italian version and any translation, the Italian version shall prevail. This Cookie Policy describes the use of cookies and other tracking tools on the pelagicpredator.it website, in compliance with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) of 10 June 2021 (decision n. 231) and art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that visited sites send to the user's device, where they are stored to be re-sent to the same sites on subsequent visits. They are used for various purposes, for example to store preferences, collect navigation information or enable authentication.
Types of cookies used
The site uses technical cookies, for which, pursuant to art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and to the Garante Guidelines, no prior user consent is required, and, only with the user's consent, third-party statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4). The site does not use profiling or marketing cookies.
Technical cookies
The technical cookies used by the site are the following:
- pp_cookie_consent: stores the user's choice regarding cookie consent (6 months)
- pp_scroll: stores, only in the browser tab (sessionStorage), the scroll position of the pages visited, to restore it with the back and forward buttons or on reload; it is not sent to the server (until the tab is closed)
Third-party statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
The site uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, for aggregate statistics on visits. Its cookies are installed only after the user's consent, given in the cookie banner or through the "Manage consent" link in the footer of every page, and consent can be revoked at any time through the same link. Without consent the Google Analytics script is not loaded. The cookies, installed on the pelagicpredator.it domain, are the following:
- _ga: distinguishes visitors with a random identifier, for aggregate statistics on visits (400 days, about 13 months)
- _ga_PMRK53PP89: keeps the state of the visit session, for aggregate statistics on visits (400 days, about 13 months)
If statistics are refused or consent is revoked, the site deletes these two cookies from the browser straight away.
The data collected may be transferred to Google LLC, in the United States, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
No other external service installs cookies. Should embedded content from external services (e.g. maps, video) install their own cookies in the future, this policy will be updated and the user's prior consent will be requested for categories other than technical ones.
Managing your preferences
The user may manage their cookie preferences at any time through the "Manage consent" link in the footer of every page of the site. Through this tool it is possible to amend or revoke consent.
Cookies can also be managed directly from the user's browser settings. Below are links to the instructions of the main browsers:
